  • Replace leaky roofs around school

  • Purchase and install a new Intercom System with Classroom Emergency Call Buttons

  • Purchase and install playground soft surface for a safer play area

  • Renovate the cafeteria by lowering the ceiling and adding new air ducts, purchasing new fixtures, equipment, and furniture, including cafeteria tables

Bond Election Facts

For the past six summers, the district has been able to budget for at least one small facility/maintenance issue that needed attention.  With the approval of this bond, the district can address several areas in need of immediate attention and then develop a long term plan for addressing remaining areas in need, such as resurfacing the track.   Aside from leaky roofs, some items selected for the bond received priority due to safety reasons such as the Emergency Call Buttons in the classrooms, providing soft surfaces around playground equipment, and changing the drainage system in the middle of campus which will eliminate the metal grates.    The cafeteria renovation improves not only the appearance and sound factors but will also make the space more energy efficient with lower ceilings.  Tables that have been welded and wired together will be replaced with lighter, easier to fold tables. New equipment in the kitchen will add to the overall efficiency in meal preparation and the serving line.

The largest project in the bond calls for renovations in the Little Theater which includes features that make for an actual music room space for our vocal music program as well as the replacement of broken chairs, new carpet, paint, and a total renovation of the restrooms. These will be the first renovations to the Little Theater since it was built in 1992.

The annual cost to residents of the district amounts to approximately $2.20 per $100.00 currently paid in taxes for the first year. Each year thereafter, the amount decreases until the bond is paid in full.

The previous bond issue which pays off this spring, was for the construction and furnishing of the Event Center. This multi-purpose facility has proven to be a facility that the district could not do without now.  We very much appreciate the support of those voters who made the Event Center possible and ask for the same support with this current bond issue on March 5.
