Academic Team

Woodall Academic Team

Woodall offers academic team to students in 5th-8th grade. Woodall Academic Team directly supports the mission and goals of Woodall Public School in that it strives to create an environment that provides students with access to challenging and rewarding excellence in academic pursuits. The Woodall Academic Team mission is to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of Language Arts, Math, Science, Current Events, and Humanities in an academic quiz bowl environment. Our purpose is to study a variety of topics in preparation for attending competitions that test our knowledge in multiple subject areas, as well as fostering an academically competitive environment both individually and team collectively.

We compete in the CCAA (Cherokee County Academic/Athletic Association county league, ORES State Written/Buzzer Competitions, OAAC (Oklahoma Association for Academic Competition) Tournament of Champions Scholars, and OJABA (Oklahoma Junior Academic Bowl Association).

During the 2022-23 school year, our 5th Grade Academic Team was County Runners-Up in CCAA tournament play and our 8th Grade team won Districts, placed 3rd in Regionals and competed in the state competition in the OJABA State Championship Tournament.

We also had 6 students in grades 6-8 qualify for the Tournament of Champions in individual written academic competitions.
